Elie Ikangu, #24

Elie Ikangu played with the youth team at French team Le Havre AC until signing with Darlington F.C. in England in 2005. After a preseason trial, he signed a developmental contract with Red Bull New York in 2006. He saw action in two games and made his Red Bulls debut when he came on in the 84th minute against the Chicago Fire on May 13. Ikangu started and played 90 minutes in six Reserve Division games. Saw time in exhibition match against FC Barcelona on August 12, but suffered a hamstring injury later in August, forcing him to miss the rest of the 2006 regular season.

In 2007, Elie mostly played with the reserve team, although part of the 18 on game days. NY RedBulls' investment and trust in Elie will certainly make him a hot prospect in the 2008 campaign.
